Valve have just released their latest update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This update see's the introduction of the Horizon Case which includes a plethora of new weapon skins and knives but also moves their recently released Panorama Mode out of Beta and forced it to be active by default.
This new update as usual has seen some mixed reactions as all weapon skin updates do, but some fan favourites so far are the:
AK-47 | Neon Rider - sporting some neon blue & pink colours, some people have said it reminds them of games like Hotline Miami.
M4A1-S | Nightmare - This beautiful weapon skin has clearly had a lot of attention to detail despite its relatively simple design. Fans of the M4A1-S | Icarus Fell will probably like the Nightmare just as much, if not more.
Glock-18 | Warhawk - This weapon skin looks like its straight off a WW2 plane. With the classic open mouth at the tip of the barrel showing its sharp teeth, this thing may just be enough to make enemies tremble when they see it coming towards them. Although it is not expected to be one of the more expensive skins, it will more than likely be in the collection of anyone who likes WW2 or old planes.
With the addition of the 17 new weapon skins also comes 4 knew knives, 3 of whom look very familiar.
As shown in the image above, all 4 of these knives are available in the common skins accros the range such as slaughter, safari mesh, fade, crimson web etc.
The top knife pictured is the Stiletto knife. This thin but long bladed knife has a needle-like point, which is primarily intended as a stabbing weapon. This knife may also remind some people of a longer letter opener.
Next as we look at the 2nd row, things start looking a bit more familiar. Here we have the Ursus knife. This knife may remind people of the very similar Huntsman knife released quite some time ago.
3rd in the lineup is the Nevaja. With a very similar blade to the Butterfly Knife that appears to be mounted to a base very similar to the Falchion Knife, this knife perhaps would look nicer next to a tub of butter & 2 slices of toast.
4th and the final knife in the lineup is the Karambit... Sorry, I mean the Talon. I'm sure many of you also thought it was the Karambit at first glance as well. After having a 2nd look at it there are definitely some clear differences, with the 3 holes in the Talons blade being a key difference. However this knife will more than likely be just as popular, if not more popular than the far older Karambit.
As for actual game updates the main changes to take note of are:
Panorama UI is now out of Beta and will be enabled by default.
Planted C4 will emit a different beeping sound when planted at B.
A tonne of much needed fixes to the Panorama UI.
