NVIDIA GeForce GV104 GPU Spotted! 2 Series Confirmed, A Likely Announcement At Gamescom 2018

We all knew it was coming, and we all knew that the new series is going to pack a punch. This is apparently the PCB of the new GTX 2080; yes i said 2080! Apparently the Manufacturing company "Manli" have entered the GeForce GTX 2070 and 2080 (GV104) into the database of a website called "EEC" (Eurasian Economic Commission) which appears to be a Russian Technology Database website of some sorts validating that the product/s are registered.

Here we can see the database entry form with a list of GPU's that Manli have registered on the EEC website which have been highlighted and are in-fact in the list

A leak of the 2 Series PCB has also been leaked within the last 48 hours by a Baidu user. Below you can see what is the new PCB of the 2080 most likely, and on first sight there is a lot to take in in terms of feature that this PCB alone has on it.

We are presented with a new generation of card that shows us that the PCB will most likely house 8GB or 16GB of GDDR6 Memory. The card has what looks to be a 10-phase VRM design, supported by one 8-pin and one 6-pin connector. This is a massive thing for the 2 series, as this looks to be a Founder's Edition card which usually have limited power delivery over AIB partner's boards. As a comparison; when the Founders GTX 1080 released, it had only one 8-pin connector, and AIB cards had two 8-pin on higher end variants.

Another very evident feature that the new series has is the fact that SLI (Scalable Link Interface) looks no longer present and instead, NVIDIA have made use of and opted to add the all new NVLink Technology for Gaming Cards. This also suggests that the fabric on the PCB is high throughput, and will offer a more scalable interconnect with multi-GPU setups. This PCB looks like it's the final design, and definitely looks to be the Founder's Edition variant as we can see the NVIDIA markings published on the board. It's also present that we can see "PG180" as the board number.

As we draw closer to Gamescom in Europe, starting on the 21st August 2018, where apparently NVIDIA has invited everyone to a special event, we will most likely see the new GPU's being announced.

What do you think of the 2 Series naming? I for one love the move to the 2 Series, and am very glad that the 1xxx branding wasn't adopted. After all, its Ampere with new memory right? Let us know in the comments section below.
