Asus Press Event PAX Melbourne 2018

October 30, 2018

Pax Melbourne 2018 has just passed this weekend and what a weekend it was. From pre-released games, the latest AAA titles and even to the latest hardware shown and able to be tested right there and then.

I was personally invited by ASUS Australia to the PAX Press event which ASUS showed off there latest Products, and i must say from what was showcased; ASUS and ROG are bringing goodies for us in Q4 2018 and Q1 2019.

ASUS and ROG now have a wide range of Networking products on release, from life style products all the way to ROG Strix gaming routers, ASUS and ROG have you covered.

Below we have the the RT-AX88U which is a  Dual Band 802.11ax WiFi Router supporting MU-MIMO and OFDMA technology, with AiProtection Pro network security powered by Trend Micro, built-in game accelerator and Adaptive QoS, this router we PC419 are very interested in as it has gaming accelerator technology but is also a life style product not having AURA sync RGB but all the bells and whistles of the new AX wireless technology.

The ROG Rapture GT-AC2900 with Aura Sync because who doesn't want there router matching there desktop build RGB,  with full support of GEFORCE NOW which this router is certified gives you no latency gaming.

The ROG Rapture GT-AC2900 also supports triple level game accelerator which allocates the most bandwidth to your gaming experience dropping your online ping/latency dramatically giving you the best online experience.

ASUS Lyra Trio is another one of ASUS life style which is AC1750 Dual Band Mesh WiFi System covering wide span area of your home or office covering Multi-Story Homes up to 5400 sq.ft. The Lyra Trio can give up to 50% faster data rates this a stand alone ac1200 Mesh wifi system, reaching speeds of 1300 Mbps.

The next product I had a chance to have a play around with which I absolutely loved was the ROG STRIX XG49VQ.

This monitor is a 49" 32:9 Dual full HD 3840 x 1080 ROG gaming monitor with 144hz refresh rate, while having a chance my self to play Call of Duty Black ops powered by ASUS 2080ti on high to ultra, achiving over 120 FPS in game, looked absolutely fantastic, but having a good looking monitor with the ROG badge comes at a cost, which is $1999 the only down fall is we are still waiting for 1440p 49" gaming monitors.

Next up we have ROG Maximus XI Extreme Z390 motherboard! and what a beast of a motherboard, with Dedicated water cooling zones, m.2 heat sinks and flexible fan controls the ROG MAXIMUS is showcasing as a board to be recon with. As seen below the board RGB lighting is well covered, the OSD placement was great but i would of preferred more surface area with a larger screen.

With built in 5Gps Ethernet and 2x2 802.11ac your gaming and online experience will be fantastic, pairing this board with ASUS or ROG router with game accelerator feature making your gaming experience even better.

The ROG Maximus XI Extreme motherboard also features Intel latest Z390 chip set which will give great overclocking to the latest I9 processors just released.

The Maximus also has 4 m.2 slots, USB 3.1 gen 2 and 5 way optimization giving you accurate and stable overclocking for your CPU and cooling profiles tailored to your rig specification.

Going onto the sound and head phones for the event, finally I had an opportunity to see the Fusion 700 headset in person.

This wireless Bluetooth Headset must say does feel quality but comes with a hefty price tag RRP for $485.00 AUD

This Headset does come equipped for all kind of gamer's from home to pro scene. Going through some of the specs with  connectivity via Bluetooth 4.2 USB 2.0  for PC/MAC and PS4, going to the sound drivers this headset has Hi-fi-grade ESS DAC and amplifiers giving you unparalleled gaming audio.

Another main feature is the touch controls on the side of the headset giving you pick up calls, adjust your volume and playback feature and giving you full control of your RGB lighting effects.

ASUS MiniPC PB series supports Windows 10 Pro and also can be configured for the Intel Core i3, i5, i7 processors it has support for DDR4 RAM up to 32GB, For storage M.2 SSD2.5-inch HDD,

Display out 4K resolution via display port, and Wi-Fi and USB 3.1 Gen2 on board.

This Inwin PCbuild housing ASUS latest RTX 2080ti

ROG Ryujin 360 all-in-one liquid CPU cooler with Live Dash color OLED this AIO cooler is one of my new favorite coolers on the market, cannot wait to test one of these in the studio and see its true cooling capabilities.

ROG STRIX Z390-I GAMING with Intels latest Z390 chipset and integrated I/O shield & VRM heatsink, Intel Wi-Fi, DDR4 4600+ , M.2, SATA 6Gbps, HDMI 2.0, and USB 3.1 Gen 2
